10 things I'm loving today:

Pinterest Edition.

Do you love Pinterest? You should. It's awesome, but a complete time-suck. I love it still. (As if the 3149 pins weren't proof enough)

Today- 10 things I'm loving from my most recent 'pins':

Gorgeous portrait of a momma and her little.

Can't wait to make this for our summer grill outs!

STOP it! I die of cuteness. Definitely making these!

{ugh. can't find the link for this one.}
This is what I will be wearing to the Cardinal's game this summer on our St. Louis vacation!

Someone please have a baby so I can make this heart garland.

Stunning.

Not a huge fan of the name, but I think I could probably eat my weight in them.

Appropriate for today.

I like the colors.

I love everything about this room.

I think that's ten.. off to pin more...

The best feelings in the world.

The best feelings in the world, in no certain order.
  • Smelling Chance's cologne in the bathroom after he leaves for the day. It's like another good-bye hug!
  • Sweet hugs from Olivia.
  • Smiling
  • Sleeping in
  • Cuddling and watching movies with Chance.
  • Cuddling and watching a show with Olivia.
  • Finishing a good book.
  • The relief after a good cry.
  • The smell of freshly cut grass.
  • Christmas morning.
  • Goosebumps when you're listening to your favorite praise and worship song. {Mine is 'Redeemer' - gets me every time.}
  • Watching Olivia learn/do something new.
  • Rocking Olivia to sleep.
  • Sleeping babies on my chest.
  • Knowing you've made someone's day better.
  • Making a stranger smile.
  • When little old ladies call you "Sugar" - that may be a southern thing.
  • Watching my baby become a little girl.
  • That feeling you get after you've been on a really long drive and pull into your driveway.
  • Warm sun rays on your skin.
I'm sure I'm leaving TONS out, so we'll just leave this post as a To Be Continued....

Make Someone's Day.

I believe that we are all put here to help one another through this thing called life. One way I do that is through food; another is words.

Remember the excitement you felt when you were a child and you received mail? I was so thrilled, that I'd be shaking by the time I got the envelope opened. Why can't the joy of 'happy mail' follow us into adulthood?

I make it a point to send those that I love cards. Sometimes it's for their birthday, sometimes their anniversary, and sometimes its for no reason at all. Those are my favorite cards to send. The one's that come unexpectedly, and {hopefully} bring a smile to the face of the recipient. So when DaySpring gave me the opportunity to review their fabulous cards, I jumped at the opportunity. Yes, the cards were beautiful and well made with just the right words; but I saw them as so much more. These cards gave me the opportunity to bless someone I love. Lots of them have cards in the post man's bag right now!

I think it's so sad that our society is getting away from card writing. {Does anyone send thank you notes anymore?} It's such a simple and quick way to reach out and show those that we love how much they matter to us. So go check out the 'thinking of you' section over at DaySpring, grab a card and get writing. And for goodness sake, the next time someone does something nice for you.... write.a.thank.you.note!

French for Candy

About a week ago I received some very happy mail from BonBon Jewels. The new objects of my affection are in the top left hand corner of the picture above. To die for, right? BonBon is a gorgeous jewelry line. A jewelry line that just happens to be owned and designed by my lovely cousin Micah Yancey Rust.

Isn't she fabulous??

In December of 2010 Micah realized her dream by making jewelry design her full-time career. I could not be more proud of her. Last year she was nominated for the Austin Fashion Award Best Designer; along with several other recognitions via press and nominations. Last month she partnered with Merah to create “BonBon By Micah Yancey for Merah;” a line of earrings made with hypo-allergenic ear hooks. Micah believes that jewelry should be 5 things; clean, simple, well-made, sophisticated and in keeping with current fashion trends. She hand picks each stone used in her pieces; and uses only semi- precious stones, 14 karat gold- filled and sterling silver metals, and one-of-a-kind vintage items for her designs. I am lucky enough to own 3 pair of earrings from the line and I love all of them equally. The construction is impeccable and they are just so darned pretty! I get compliments on them all the time. So please, stop reading this and go take a look at the line for yourself. You won't regret it. Pinky promise.

{wearing my pretties the day I got them, I couldn't wait}

The Best Things About Motherhood..

I've always known that I wanted to be a Mommy. Now that I am, I am reminded daily why. There are just so many things I cherish about being a "Mama-Ma"

sweet toothy smiles
pigtails
sleepy snuggles
watching my girl learn something new
seeing the wonder in her eyes

{at the zoo for her birthday 3.23.2011}

seeing her play with other children
her belly laugh
dancing to the "wiggle song"
reading her stories
wispy baby hair brushing my face when I rock her to sleep
when she touches my cheek in the middle of the night
her "I-just-woke-up-and-I'm-so-glad-to-see-you" smile
when she holds my hand while watching tv

{7.5.2011}

watching how much her daddy loves her
her love for animals
how she kisses her bible
her "reading"
her singing
the paci game
watching her eat strawberries
knowing without a shadow of a doubt that I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, when I'm with her
